Screening for Plagiarism
Jurnal Keterapian Fisik is committed to maintaining academic integrity and ensuring the originality of all published articles. All submitted manuscripts must represent original scholarly work, and any ideas, data, text, figures, tables, or other materials derived from other sources must be properly acknowledged and cited.
All manuscripts submitted to Jurnal Keterapian Fisik are screened for similarity using Turnitin or other appropriate plagiarism detection tools. The journal applies a maximum similarity index of 20%, excluding references, properly cited quotations, and other standard exclusions where applicable. However, the similarity index is not the sole criterion for determining plagiarism. Each similarity report is evaluated by the editor to assess the nature, context, and significance of the detected similarities.
The following practices are considered forms of plagiarism or publication misconduct:
-
Plagiarism: Using another person's ideas, words, data, images, or other intellectual contributions without appropriate acknowledgment.
-
Self-plagiarism: Reusing substantial portions of one's previously published work without proper citation or transparent disclosure.
-
Duplicate publication: Submitting or publishing substantially the same manuscript or findings in more than one journal without appropriate justification and disclosure.
-
Improper citation: Failing to acknowledge original sources or providing misleading or inaccurate citations.
-
Text recycling and unattributed reuse: Reusing previously published text or materials without appropriate citation or disclosure, where such reuse violates scholarly and publication ethics.
If potential plagiarism or inappropriate textual overlap is identified during the initial screening or peer-review process, the editor will assess the findings and may request clarification from the authors. Depending on the severity and nature of the suspected misconduct, the journal may request revisions, reject the manuscript, or conduct further investigation. If misconduct is identified after publication, Jurnal Keterapian Fisik may issue a correction, an expression of concern, or a retraction, as appropriate.
Authors are fully responsible for ensuring the originality of their manuscripts, the accuracy of citations, and compliance with ethical standards for scholarly publication. All suspected cases of plagiarism will be handled fairly, objectively, and confidentially in accordance with the publication ethics policies of Jurnal Keterapian Fisik and relevant guidelines from the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).
